Fruit Sale Orders Taken Until Tues.

FALCONER — The Annual Falconer Fruit Sale is now taking place. It is a major fundraiser for the After Prom Party and Senior Vigil. Orders will be taken through Tuesday, and may be given to any Falconer junior or senior or by contacting Rosie Digirolamo at 665-6624.

Parks Panel To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport. The public in welcome to attend.

Fundraiser Set For Saturday

The Community Helping Hands Emporium fundraiser will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown. Vendors will be selling their crafts with more than 30 baskets to be given away. There will also be activities for children, and the Christmas Market will be open with everything from bows to trees. The festivities begin with a special Christmas decorations shopping event Friday at 10 a.m. Bonnie Kyle and Pat Sharp are co-chairs for the event and have been working with volunteers since August to ensure this year’s Emporium has something for everyone. Drug Drop Off Day To Be Held

DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk Police Department and WCA Alstar Ambulance in cooperation with the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency are coordinating a National Prescription Drug Drop Off Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The drop off will be at Alstar’s north county location behind School No. 3 on Route 60 and Orchard Street in the city of Dunkirk. Prescription drugs can be dropped off with no questions asked.

Folk Dancing Class Is Oct. 29

Traditional Scandinavian folk dancing will be taught on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 904 W. Third St., Jamestown. There is no charge for the classes.

Church Will Hold Harvest Dinner

DEWITTVILLE — A free Harvest dinner will be held at the Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Route 430 and Meadows Road in Dewittville.

Leaf Collection To Begin Nov. 4

Phase I of the leaf collection in Jamestown will begin Monday, Nov. 4. Residents are advised to rake leaves to the terrace behind the curb and not into the street. Residents are also asked to refrain from placing any trash, plastic bags and containers within the leaves. Phase I will begin in the Foote Avenue, Martin Road and Linwood Avenue area and move east and north, counter clockwise, to the east side of Washington Street and the Fluvanna Avenue area. Phase II of leaf collection will begin in the Foote Avenue and Ivy Street area and will move west and north, clockwise, to Washington Street. Phase II is estimated to begin Monday, Nov. 18. No yard waste, brush, hedge trimmings, garden debris or tree branches will be collected. This material, as well as leaves, can be brought to the BPU Yard Waste Site at 1001 Monroe St. during their normal hours of operation on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Nov. 9.
