Boys, Girls Club Open Friday

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club will be open for all youth on Friday for the day off from school in the Jamestown Public School District. Hours at the club for youth members are noon-4:45 p.m. All program areas will be open and there will be lunch at noon and an afternoon snack. Free swim will be from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Youth members can attend at no charge while the cost for non-members are $1. On Saturday, the club will have its annual Halloween party for ages 5 to 12.

Candidates To Discuss Faith

The public is invited to attend a discussion about Faith and Civic Leadership with Jamestown mayoral candidates Eddie Sundquist, Andrew Liuzzo and Dave Wilfong at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Sunday at 9 a.m. in the church undercroft. The program is presented as part of their “Christ and Culture” Adult Forum series. St. Luke’s is located at 410 N. Main St., Jamestown. For more information, call 483-6405.

Safety Village To Receive Grant

The Children’s Safety Village will receive a $70,107.62 grant to provide fire safety education programing. “We care about ensuring the safety our children from the dangers of fire and make sure they know how to respond to these types of emergencies,” U.S. Rep. Tom Reed said. “This grant also provides funding to help keep our constituents safe and informed. We will continue to support fire safety education and similar programs that keep our constituents safe.” Added Jessica Dayton, Children’s Safety Village executive director: “The Children’s Safety Village feels so fortunate to be the recipients of a Fire Prevention and Safety Award from FEMA. These funds are crucial to our programming and will be used to teach children how to react in a fire emergency, to teach CPR to the community and will provide free smoke alarms and installations to those who need them. This grant will help us further our mission of reducing the number of unintentional injuries and unfortunate fatalities within our county.”

Pre-Licensing Course Is Set

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday, Nov. 4, from 5-10 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Turkey Party To Be Held Nov. 1

KIANTONE — The Kiantone Independent Fire Department will hold its annual turkey party and gun giveaway Friday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

County Planning Board To Meet

The Chautauqua County Planning Board will meet at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services, 2 Academy St., Mayville. The public is welcome to attend.

Auxiliary Will Hold Bazaar

The Kiantone Auxiliary will hold its Christmas Craft and Bazaar on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are tables available. For more information, contact Kim at 640-7697.
