Jamestown BOE To Meet Tues.

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room of the administration building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Fenton To Host Halloween Event

The Grimm Fairy Tales Come to Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Fenton History Center. Reservations are being taken for the four time slots available for tours at 1, 3, 6 and 8 p.m. Fairy tales featuring the Grimm Brothers will be scattered throughout the Fenton Mansion, which is decorated for Halloween. The event is family friendly. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 for children ages 5 and older. For more information or reservations, call 664-6256.

Screening To Be Held Saturday

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 N. Main St.,will host a screening of the classic 1923 movie, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. The film, which stars Lon Chaney Sr. will be accompanied by Jack Bollman, Organist at St. Stephen’s in Olean on St. Luke’s Aeolin Skinner organ. The Halloween weekend event is free to attend; a free-will offering will be collected to the New York State Preservation League.

Coldspring Town Board To Meet

COLDSPRING — The Coldspring Town Board met Oct. 3 for its regular meeting. It was called to order at 7:09 p.m. by Supervisor Tina Hyde. Members present were Wendell Craig Anderson and Kenneth Dechow. Also present were Ronald Brooks, highway superintendent and Laura Napoli from Baghat and Baghat-Laurito. Minutes were read from the Sept. 12 meeting by town clerk and approved as read by Hyde. A resolution to adopt the tentative budget as the preliminary budget and to schedule a public hearing for the Nov. 7 meeting was made. A motion to purchase a new computer through state bid was adopted. A motion to adopt a resolution for Cattaraugus County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update with Authorization and Letter of Intent to Participate passed. The Town Board will next meet Thursday, Nov. 7.

Salvation Army To Hold Sign-Ups

The Salvation Army will be holding sign-ups for the agency’s annual Christmas Assistance Program from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 4-7. Income eligible individuals could receive a Christmas meal basket for their household. Households with children ages 12 and under, as of Christmas Day, could also receive gifts. Interested clients should bring proof of all members of the household, including picture identification for everyone in a household over the age of 18, birth certificate or medical card for those under 18, proof of all income including SNAP benefits, and proof of all expenses (everything a household pays each month). All information must be present at time of application. For more information, call 664-4108.

Rummage Sale Set Nov. 1

CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek United Methodist Church on Main Street in Cherry Creek will hold its annual fall rummage sale on Friday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, with a bag and bake sale. To donate good, clean items, call 296-8083. No electronics are accepted.
