Quilters, Crafters To Meet Monday

Quilters and Crafters will meet at Ellington Farman Library, 760 Thornton Road, on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The craft time is the first and third Mondays monthly, and there is no fees or registration. The events are open to all, not just Ellington residents. For more information, call the library at 287-2945.

NCCR To Hold Open House Sat.

WESTFIELD — The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an open house on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be cake, punch and coffee. Those attending the celebration can bring donations. More than 3,000 dogs and puppies have made their way through the shelter to new homes over the past 20 years. The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, and is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday or by appointment by calling 326-7297. The shelter is also fundraising by collecting nickle deposit cans and bottles during October. Cans must be rinsed out and not crushed, and can be left outside the shelter doors at any time.

Tea Party Sets Tuesday Meeting

LAKEWOOD — Southern Tier Tea Party Patriots will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion.

Library Receives Book Donation

LAKEWOOD — Due to a donation of 985 books, Lakewood Memorial Library, 12 W. Summit St., is hosting a murder mystery book sale on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Avril Moore, the donor, is a former seasonal resident of Chautauqua. Her book collection includes dozens of authors.

Audubon Sets Fundraiser

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host an Audubon Exclusive fundraiser at The Draft House, 707 Pennsylvania Avenue East, Warren. On Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 4 to 9 p.m., 20 percent of all food and beverage sales will be donated to Audubon Community Nature Center. Audubon staff members and volunteers will be on hand to welcome visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. Under the direction of Terry LeBaron, Audubon Community Nature Center buildings and grounds manager, volunteers donate their time to help maintain Audubon trails, buildings, arboretum and more. Proceeds from the evening will help purchase tools needed for the grounds maintenance crew. There will also be 50-50 giveaways and other activities. Library Board Meets Tuesday

The October meeting of the Hazeltine Public Library Board of Trustees will be held Tuesday, at the library. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m., and members of the public are welcome to attend. For more information, call the library at 487-1281.

Salvation Army Gifts Galore Sat.

The Salvation Army will hold its Crafts and Gifts Galore event Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The great Runfola will perform magic throughout the day, with a cake walk at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call 720-5905.
