Absentee Ballotts Are Available

MAYVILLE — Absentee ballots for all county elections are available forat the Chautauqua County Board of Elections, Hall R. Clothier building, 7 N Erie St,. Mayville. The Board of Elections is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for absentee voters. Any voter who previously applied for an absentee ballot and all voters have previously filed an absentee ballot application in the permanent physically unable to go the polls status, but not located a group facility, will have ballots mailed from the office Friday. Absentee ballot applications can be downloaded at votechautauqua.com and can be mailed or delivered to the Mayville elections office for ballot return delivery.

Antique Group To Hold Meeting

STOCKTON — The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will meet at 7 p.m. today at the club grounds, 4578 Cemetery Road, Stockton. All members are asked to attend.

City Man Enters Guilty Plea

Willie C. Graham 38, of Jamestown, pleaded guilty last week to being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emmanuel Ulubiyo, who is handling the case, stated that on Oct. 8, 2018, during the execution of a state search warrant at Graham’s residence on Foote Avenue in Jamestown, law enforcement officers recovered two firearms, ammunition, two magazines, a scope, a Kevlar vest and a quantity of methamphetamine. At the time of the search warrant, Graham was a two-time convicted felon, and as a result, he was legally prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. The plea is the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Jamestown Police Department. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 29, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.

Food Pantry Truck Available

ASHVILLE — The Food Bank of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Buffalo will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. today. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Those receiving food should bring their own bags or boxes. For more information, call 763-9252.

Vets Finding Vets Program Is Wed.

The Vets Finding Vets program is bringing Steve Appleby, director of the Eldred World War II Museum, to Jamestown Community College’s Scharmann Theater on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Appleby will bring a display of World War II weaponry and other items veterans will remember using. Students from several schools and the public will also be in attendance.

Cemetery Assn. To Meet Sept. 30

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Evergreen Cemetery Association will hold its annual lot owners’ meeting on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Hall.

Nominations for two trustee positions will be on the agenda.
