Community Craft Time To Be Held

KENNEDY — Community Craft Time at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon upstairs in the adult Sunday school room. Those attending can work on their individual project or visit during the social time. Craft time is open to all adults. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy, and is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door.

Ashville VFD Sets Blood Drive

ASHVILLE — The Ashville Fire Department at 5338 Stow Road will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross from 1 to 6 p.m. today.

Nature Trail To Be Renamed

SHERMAN — The Village of Sherman Nature Trail will be renamed after Rosemary “Rosie” Billquist at a ceremony Saturday at noon. Billquist, who was an avid runner and cyclist and grew up in Sherman, died in a hunting accident in November 2017. The ceremony by the village and Chautauqua Rails to Trails will take place at the trailhead on Franklin Street behind the Ox and Rooster Restaurant. Light refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend.

Barbecue To Be In Sherman Sat.

SHERMAN — The Sherman Community Church will host a chicken barbecue starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. The barbecue will be held regardless of weather. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children. Dinner includes macaroni salad, baked beans, roll and homemade pie.

Observatory Sets Movie Night

FREWSBURG — The Martz-Kohl Observatory, 176 Robbin Hill Road, Frewsburg, is hosting a movie night Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. regarding Jupiter. After the movie presentation, the public will have an opportunity to tour the observatory as well as view Jupiter and other celestial objects in the night sky, weather permitting. The observatory is an all-volunteer, nonprofit association and does not charge for admission. A non-member donation of $5 per adult and $2 per child or student is appreciated.

Chicken, Biscuit Dinner Sept. 13

BUSTI — On Friday, Sept. 13, SSAFE Sportsmen’s Outreach and Busti Federated Church will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner in the church fellowship hall. Dinner will be served from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with take-out orders available. The cost is a donation and all proceeds will benefit current and upcoming outreach and mission projects. Beef On Weck Dinner Sept. 14

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville History Fair committee will hold a beef on weck dinner at the Sinclairville Fire Hall on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m. The dinner will include a beef sandwich with macaroni salad along with pickle, brownie and drink. A dinner will be $7 and $4 for children under 12. All proceeds will go to support the annual Sinclairville History Fair and will be served until sold out.
