Concert Series Closes Sunday

CASSADAGA — On Sunday, Dos will close the Cassadaga Lakes Summer Concert Series and appear on the floating stage at Cassadaga Beach on Park Avenue from 5-7 p.m. Dos is a two-man rock band consisting of Gweege Cruz on drums and John Morse on keyboards. They have been performing at local venues for seven years. The concert is sponsored by the Cassadaga Lakes Association. Extra parking can be found at the fire hall on Mill Street. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Community Building on Mill Street or American Legion Post 1280 on Maple Avenue.

Fenton To Hold Cemetery Tours

Tickets are now on sale for the Fenton History Center’s 14th Saints and Sinners Cemetery Tours. Horse-drawn trolley and walking tours will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Oct. 5 and Oct. 12. The Mausoleum and More Tour is at 8 p.m. Oct. 13. Reservations are required for the horse-drawn tours and cost $20 per seat. Walking tours are $10 pre-sale at the Fenton Museum Gift Shop and $12 at the gate. The cost is $5 for Fenton History Center members. For reservations, call 664-6256.

Sacred Heart Will Hold Fundraiser

LAKEWOOD — Sacred Heart Parish in Lakewood will be having its annual Cash Club drawing and basket giveaway on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Cash Club raises money to support various parish ministries. There are 26 cash prizes, including a first prize of $1,000. Tickets are available for a donation of $10 each and can be obtained at the parish office at 380 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, next to Walmart. All ticket holders are also invited to attend the Cash Club drawing party on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the church hall. In addition to the ticket drawings, hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided and the basket giveaways will be held. For more information, call 763-2815.

Carnival For Canines Is Set

DUNKIRK — Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue, a local nonprofit canine rescue, is hosting its annual Pubs for Pups event on Sept. 14 at Rookies on the Lake in Dunkirk at 2 p.m. This year’s event is themed Carnival for Canines. Registered participants will receive a themed T-shirt, drink chips, food catered by Andre’s Ribs and live music. Participants can play carnival games for the chance to win prizes from 3-6 p.m. Live music will be provided by Band of Brothers and Waite for It, starting at 2 p.m. and playing until 8 p.m. Registration is open through Sunday. Communication Workshop To Be Held Sept. 24

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Parent Network of Western New York will host a seminar, “Speak Up! Skills For Effective Advocacy and How To Prepare For Meetings” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Cassadaga Valley Middle/High School, 5935 Route 60, Sinclairville. The workshop is for parents, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities who participate in various meetings with professionals throughout a school year.
