Libertarian Party Issues Candidate Endorsements

The Chautauqua County Libertarian Party held its monthly meeting Thursday, Aug. 1, at the See-Zurh House in Bemus Point and issued nominations. Those endorsed at Thursday’s meeting were: Daniel Pacos for Pomfret town supervisor, John Sedota for Pomfret Town Council and Alan Gustafson Jr. for Falconer village trustee. The endorsements brings the party’s total endorsements countywide to 19. Blood Drive Is Wednesday At Lutheran

The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Social Service, 715 Falconer St., Jamestown. The blood bank has a supply of less than one day of blood for blood types O+ and O- while also experiencing shortages of blood types A+, A- and B-. Individuals are eligible to give blood if it has been 56 days since their last donation; they are at least 17 years of age, 16 with parental consent; weigh at least 110 pounds; have not received a tattoo or body piercing in the past 12 months; are in good general health and do not have a cold or the flu. Valid photo identification is required. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal and drink at least 18 ounces of water. Jamestown School Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the board room, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

County IDA Board To Hold Special Meeting Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board will hold a special meeting at 12:15 p.m. Monday in the BWB Building, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Cassadaga Slates National Night Out Events

CASSADAGA — The second annual National Night Out event will be held on Tuesday at the Cassadaga Community Building on Mill Street in Cassadaga from 6-8 p.m. The Cassadaga Fire Department will conduct tours and demonstrations. Also scheduled are the New York State Police pedal carts and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department K-9 demonstration. The hot dog vendor will have refreshments available for purchase. The Cassadaga Job Corps will have exhibits, information and games.

Celoron To Host Rescheduled Concert Wednesday

CELORON — Due to inclement weather on Wednesday, July 17, the village of Celoron cancelled its scheduled concert. That concert, by Take 2, has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Desi Arnaz Band Shell in Lucille Ball Memorial Park. The concert series is sponsored in part by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The public is welcome to attend. Those attending should bring a lawn chair for seating.
