Summer Concerts Set For Davis Park

Concerts have been announced for the 30th Year of Summer concerts taking place Thursday nights in Davis Park in the village of Falconer. Concerts are scheduled from 7-9 p.m., and are sponsored by the Falconer Public Library and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The following concerts are planned: Come Back Patsy Cline, July 18; Pearl City Jazz, July 25; Good Life Band, Aug. 1. Refreshments will be available by the Falconer Kiwanis Club.

Republican Caucus July 20

A Republican Party caucus for making nomination of candidates for town officers in the town of South Valley will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at the South Valley Town Hall, 11888 Sawmill Run Road, Frewsburg. Candidates are to be nominated for the following offices: supervisor, two-year term; town justice, four-year term; two council positions, four-year term; and highway superintendent, two-year term.

Annual Hot Rod Car Show Sunday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod & Gun Club will host its 12th annual Hot Rod Sunday car show and lakefront picnic Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Dashplaques to the first 100 cars will be given out. Live music by Happy Days will be performed starting at 1 p.m. Burgers, hot dogs and beverages will also be available. The event is hosted by the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and Shults Auto Group.

Busti Gazebo Series Continues

BUSTI — The Old Dawg Bluegrass Band will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday for the Busti Gazebo Concert Series. The band features Mark “Old Dawg” Davis on upright bass, Steve Strom on mandolin and vocals, Bill White on banjo, dobro and vocals, and Steve Eng on guitar and votals. Those attending can bring lawn chairs for seating. The concerts are sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association and Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. Historical Society Meeting Sunday

The next meeting of the Fluvanna Community Historical Society is Sunday at the Fluvanna Historical Society. The business meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. and the program will be at 6 p.m. The speaker will be Jennifer Whiteman with the topic of advance care planning.

Quilters And Crafters To Meet

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Quilters and Crafters will meet Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library. All adults are invited to come, work on their project or visit. The group meets the first and third Mondays of each month. There are plenty of outlets and a box with spare supplies such as ribbons, embroidery floss, material scraps that those attending are welcome to use. Sometimes there are even craft magazines. The library is located in the former Lock, Stock, and Barrel on the Town Square in Ellington, 760 Thorton Road. The library is handicapped-accessible. For more information, call the library at 287-2945. Library hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
