Guernsey Hollow Meet-Up Saturday

ONOVILLE — Those interested in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Guernsey Hollow will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Horse Shoe Inn in Onoville. The public is welcome to attend.

Legion To Host Happy Days Band

The Herman Kent Post Legion, Celoron, will be hosting the Happy Days band Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight. Dinners and snacks will be available. On Sunday, the Legion will host a chicken barbecue beginning at noon.

Outdoor Club To Meet Sunday

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will meet Sunday at the trail head in Westline, Pa., at 2 p.m. The group will hike or bike on Kinzua Valley Trail. Leaders will be John and Pat Shinaberger. They can be reached at 814-598-9094 or 814-598-4590. On Wednesday, members will bike the Pat McGee Trail. Attendees are asked to meet at 1 p.m. at the park and ride on Route 60 north of Jamestown. Ellington Quilters To Meet Monday

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Quilters and Crafters will meet Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library. All adults are invited to come, work on their project or just visit. The group meets the first and third Mondays. The library is located in the former Lock, Stock, and Barrel on the Town Square in Ellington, 760 Thorton Road. The library is handicap accessible. Communication Presentation Set

WESTFIELD — Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York chapter educators will lead a presentation about Effective Communication Strategies at 5 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Absolut Care of Westfield, 26 Cass St., Westfield. The program covers verbal and non-verbal strategies for caregivers to more effectively understand and communicate with a person living with dementia. Myrtle Cemetery Meeting Monday

The Myrtle Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6, in the Clarks Corners Community Church. All lot owners, board members, and other interested parties are asked to attend. Election of officers and several director positions will be held.

Spring Rummage Sale Dates Set

Karen Ray, Thelma Ecklund, Catherine Willard and Don Ray hold several of the many items that have been donated for the Spring Rummage Sale at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. There will be spring and summer clothing as well as books, jewelry, household items and toys. This annual sale has been serving the Jamestown community for many years and has allowed the women of First Presbyterian to support many local agencies. The hours of the sale this year are Wednesday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, May 9, is the bag sale from 9-11 a.m. The sale is held in the church basement located at 509 Prendergast Ave., using the entrance of the church on Sixth Street.
