Ripley Boe To Meet Wednesday

RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board of Edcuation will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the IRLA library, Room 204. The board will hold a budget workshop. No official action is expected. The public is welcome to attend.

Benefit Breakfast To Be Held March 9

FALCONER — An all-you-can-eat benefit breakfast to raise money for the Amish Community Hospital Fund will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Falcon’s Nest, 2001 E. Main St., Falconer. Breakfast includes fresh-made donuts, pancakes, maple syrup, scrambled eggs, whole-hog sausage, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice. The cost is a donation. Carry-out orders are available. There will also be a bake sale, crafts and items for sale as well as a silent auction. Anything remaining at 2 p.m. will be auctioned away.

Opioid Overdose Response Training

A free opioid overdose response training will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Chautauqua Alcohol and Substance Abuse Council, 501 W. Third St., Suites 3-4, Sprinchorn Building, Jamestown. Registration is required by calling CASAC in Jamestown at 664-3608. Alison Espin is the trainer.

Alzheimer’s Support Group March 12

The Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York will hold an Alzheimer’s caregiver support group meeting at 1 p.m. March 12 at Jamestown Area Medical Associates, 15 S. Main St., Jamestown. Respite services or pre-registration are available by calling 800-272-3900. Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure there are enough materials and to relay any changes to the schedules. Information about dementia and caregiver resources are available through the Chautauqua County Office for the Aging at 753-4582.

Social Security Scam Happening

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. is warning residents about scam artists reportedly calling from the Social Security Administration requesting people to press the number 1 on their phone for more communication about personal information. Sheriff’s Department officials encourage people not to give out their personal information while Social Security Administration officials confirm they do not call individuals; everything in the office is handled by mail. If such a call is received, residents are asked to call their local police agency.

Coffee Breaks

FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna Free Library will begin holding coffee breaks at 4 p.m. Wednesdays, starting March 6. Those attending can take part in fellowship with community members or make use of a quiet place to read or craft. The library will provide coffee.
