BPU Meeting Rescheduled

The January monthly meeting of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities has been rescheduled to noon Monday in the BPU Board Room, 92 Steele St., Jamestown. The meeting was to have taken place at 4 p.m. Monday. The public is welcome to attend.

Youth Soccer Begins In Feb.

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club Youth Soccer is set to begin the week of February 4. The league is for ages 5-9 (children can be 10 and participate if they are still in fourth grade). Children between the ages of 7 and 10 will play Mondays at either 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.. Children between the ages of 5 and 6 will play Thursdays at either 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. Games are once a week for eight weeks with no games the week of the winter school break. The cost of the league is $30. Each player must have a $20 per year youth membership to the Boys and Girls Club. Some scholarship assistance is available. DMV To Be Closed Saturday

MAYVILLE — Larry Barmore, Chautauqua County clerk, has announced that the Mayville DMV office will not be open Saturday as previously scheduled because county snowmobile trails will not be open. The Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club has said it will definitely not be open because the trails are still too wet, comments shared by other county snowmobile clubs. If snowy conditions continue, the trails should be opened by Feb. 2.

Food Pantry Open Tuesday

ASHVILLE — The Food Bank of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Buffalo will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday. Open hours are 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. STREAM Open House Tuesday

DUNKIRK — The Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, 336 Washington Ave., Dunkirk, will host an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday as part of National Catholic Schools Week. A bounce house, DJ, personalized tours and snacks for children will be available. Principal Andrew Ludwig will deliver a keynote address at 6 p.m. Samples of wine and cheese will be provided in the “Faith-Filled Faculty Room,” for adults. Parents and grandparents from throughout Chautauqua County send their children and grandchildren to Northern Chautauqua Catholic School. The school is celebrating its 30th year as the first regionalized school in Chautauqua County, where all denominations are welcomed. Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM) activities will be available in each classroom during the open house.
