Art Gallery To Celebrate 1 Year

Chautauqua Art Gallery will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Saturday with a daylong open house. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with watercolor demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will also be food and beverages throughout the day. Local proprietors Leslie and Joe Calimeri opened the gallery one year ago at 104 Chautauqua Ave. in Lakewood. Over the past year it has been host to a growing body of work by local and regional artists and has seen many patrons visit, browse and purchase original artwork.

Class Of 1966 To Meet Saturday

WARREN — The Warren Area High School Class of 1966 will hold a lunch get-together at Perkins Restaurant at noon Saturday in the side dining room. All classmates, spouses, children, grandchildren and friends of the Class of 1966 are welcome to attend. Food Pantry To Open Saturday

KENNEDY — The Food Pantry and Children’s Clothing Closet at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The Food Pantry and Children’s Clothing Closet is open monthly the third Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and the last Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry is open to residents of Falconer Central School District and may be used once a month. For more information, please call the church at 267-2645. The church is handicap accessible through the lower side door.

‘Escape The Dead’ On Sunday

Escape Rooms Jamestown will present “Escape the Dead of Winter at Lake View Cemetery” on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. This event is a combination escape room, city escape, photo scavenger hunt. Participants will earn points by solving riddles and performing tasks and searches throughout the cemetery, ending at the “Safe House.” This is a two-hour event and will take place regardless of the weather. Participants should dress for the weather and arrive at the cemetery office at 907 Lakeview Ave. by 1:40 p.m. to confirm participation. The cost is $10 per person with groups consisting of four to eight members. A portion of the proceeds will be used to provide grave markers for veteran’s graves not currently marked. Boating Course To Be Offered

The Falconer Public Library and Falconer Fire Department are sponsoring a free eight-hour safe boating course during the school vacation week. It is open to anyone 10 years of age and older. It will be held at the Falconer Fire Department, 115 Davis St, Falconer, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, and Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. and attendees must be at both days. The course will cover navigation law, rules of the road, identification and use of navigation aids, legal equipment requirements and general boating safety for all boaters including motor boats, personal watercraft, kayaks, canoes, standup paddle boards and sailboats. Anyone one born on or after May 1, 1996, is required to have a boating safety certificate to operate a motor boat and all personal watercraft operators are required to have a certificate. Certificates are good for life. Pre-registration is required as seating is limited. Call 665-3504 to register or for more information.
