Busti Planning Board To Meet

The Busti Town Planning Board will meet on the second Wednesday of each month. The Busti Town Zoning Board of Appeals will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Both boards will meet at 125 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood, and on a “as needed basis.”

Marco Polo Club Plans Spaghetti Dinner Saturday

The Marco Polo Club will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children. The club is located at 1027 E. Second St., Jamestown. The dinner is open to the public.

Quilters To Hold Meeting Jan. 17

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. at the Westfield YWCA weather-permitting. This will be a working meeting for the 2019 comfort quilts. Members may bring their own sewing machines and necessary tools of the trade, and tools will be available at each of the four stations. If members have a quilt already in progress, feel free to bring it to work on at the meeting. There will be ample room and plenty of work for everyone. New members or those interested in the Westfield Quilters’ Guild are welcome to come and see what the guild is all about.

Discuss Military Bands At Library

ELLINGTON — Mark Jones, a classical musician who has played with the Buffalo and Erie Philharmonic Orchestras, the New Sousa Band and many other groups, will visit the Ellington Farman Library to discuss Civil War military bands and bandsmen at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. Jones is a collector of antique musical instruments and ephemera, with an emphasis on Civil War items with a Western New York connection. He is a member of the Buffalo Civil War RoundTable and is president of the Hamburg Antique Studies Group. The Ellington Farman library is located on 760 Thornton Road, Ellington. SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, in the the Middle-High School multi-purpose room. The public is welcome to attend.

Toastmasters Group To Meet

Afraid of public speaking? Promoted to management? Starting a new business? Joins Chautauqua Talks Toastmasters for the group’s leadership training session Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Prendergast Library fireplace room. The meetings are powerful, positive and exciting. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m., and the meeting ends at about 8:15 p.m. This is an opportunity for members and guests to learn more about presentation tips, business networking and for advanced speeches.
