Input Sought On New Building

The village of Celoron submitted a Consolidated Funding Application to New York state for the construction of a new amenities building in Lucille Ball Memorial Park. A public meeting hosted by the Celoron Village Board will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, in the community center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron, to seek public input on the construction of a new amenities building in the park. The public is invited to attend and share ideas on the draft design proposals. The project is paid for in part by the state Department of State under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund, under state contract C1001143. “The village of Celoron has been working tirelessly on improving public access to Chautauqua Lake in Lucille Ball Memorial Park,” said Scott Schrecengost, Celoron mayor. “Last fall the construction of a new boardwalk and the installation of benches was completed. With the increased usage of the park due to the park improvements and walking path recently constructed from McCrea Point Park to Lucille Ball Memorial Park, the next logical step was to construct an amenities building to address the needs of the public. Once the amenities building is completed, the parking lot will be re-designed and paved.”
