Labor Breakfast Event To Be Held

FALCONER — New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli will be the keynote speaker at the annual Chautauqua County Democratic Committee Salute to American Labor event Saturday in Falconer. The breakfast will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Falcon’s Nest Catering Hall, 2001 East Main St., Falconer. The cost to attend is $20 and ticket information can be found at chqdem.org. Local Democratic candidates that will be on hand to salute labor will be Sheriff Joe Gerace, Assembly candidate Judy Einach and Congressional Candidate Tracy Mitrano’s staff.

Off Road Show Set For Saturday

MAPLE SPRINGS — An off-road show will be held at Loud Performance Products, 4818 Route 430, Maple Springs, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be a mud pit and obstacle course for ATVs, UTVs, Jeeps and four-by-fours, a vintage snowmobile show, rides in the “Rhino” truck, live music, barbecue, beer, vendors and a swap meet. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Blue Star Mothers.

Vanburen Road To Close Monday

POMFRET — Vanburen Road in the town of Pomfret, between Ferel Road and Chestnut Street, will be closed to traffic due to Bridge 11 replacement beginning Monday. A detour will be posted. This closure shall remain in effect until the detour signs are removed.

Ellington Library Board To Meet

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the library, 760 Thornton Road, Ellington. There is time designated for the public to speak at the beginning of each meeting. The library is handicapped accessible.

Falconer Offices Set Schedules

FALCONER — Due to staff training, the village of Falconer administrative offices, located at 101 W. Main St., will be closing at noon each day, Sept. 24-28. Limited assistance will be provided each day from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Regular hours and services will resume on Monday, Oct. 1.

Paint Night To Be Held Wednesday

KIANTONE — The Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary will be hosting a paint night on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 6-9 p.m. We will be painting a 12 by 16 foot tall picture. Tickets are $35 each which includes the canvas, paints, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. For tickets call Kim at 640-7697 or see any auxiliary member. Parenting Session Set For Monday

BROCTON — The Parent Network of Western New York will host Effective Communication: Helping Families and Professionals Work Together, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ahira Hall Memorial Library, 37 W. Main St., Brocton. The session will inform parents about their role in the special education process, communication challenges and strategies and tools for collaboration.
