Clymer Board

To Meet Monday

CLYMER — The Clymer Central School Board of Education will meet Monday at 3 p.m. for a reorganizational meeting. The meeting will be held in the Clymer Central School library and is open to the public.

Library Welcomes Local Author

The Hazeltine Public Library welcomes local author Josanne Wilson to the library Monday at 7 p.m. Wilson, a Jamestown native, has published three stories, each with themes revolving around families and life experiences. Her most recent novel, “Marguarite’s Memories,” is set in the quaint village of Sinclairville. Wilson will talk about the process of writing, her thoughts and story ideas. This event is open to everyone with no charge and no reservations needed. More details are available by contacting the library at 487-1281. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti Sugargrove Road.

Miller Fundraiser Set For Sunday

KENNEDY — A fundraiser will be held for Dick and Rose Miller on Sunday beginning at noon at the Drybrook Baron, Route 394 in Kenney. There will be live music, a bar, Chinese auction and raffles. Dick is suffering from Stage 4 cancer.

Auditions

Begin Monday

Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday for “Ain’t Missin’ Dinner!” a cabaret-style mini-musical written by local playwright, Tom Andolora. The auditions will be held at First Lutheran Church in Jamestown, 120 Chandler St. in Jamestown from 5-8 p.m. each evening. Characters include Dottie May, the gracious, quick-witted Southern Belle who hosts the convention. Melissa is from NYC and fanaticizes about being a trendsetting celebrity model. Bill is a sincere Midwesterner best played by a high baritone or tenor. Gloria, proud of her size and willing to tell everyone about it, sings a robust gospel number. Finally, three or four waiters are active in the show and provide choral support. Detailed descriptions of the characters, as well as audition requirements can be found at ChubbyAndProud.com. Volunteers are needed. Help with technical aspects, ushers and ticket sales should be directed to the CHPC offices at 338-0033, extension 218.

Ross Grange

To Meet Monday

Members of Ross Grange will meet for a special recognition of a longtime member Monday at Falconer Park. A buffet picnic will be served at 6 p.m. State Grange treasurer Ken Smith and youth co-director Elaine Smith will be present representing state Grange. Awardees and their families have been invited. Others who would like to attend should call Mary Jane Griffith at at 499-7086 for reservations. There is no charge.

Panama BOE To Meet Monday

PANAMA — The Panama Central School Board will hold a reorganizational meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the board room. The meeting is open to the public.

Bemus Point

BOE To Meet

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point School Board will conduct its reorganizational meeting Monday at the Maple Grove Middle-High School Cafeteria, located on Dutch Hollow Road in Bemus Point. An executive session will be held at 5:30 p.m., which will be followed by the regular meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
