Food Pantry To Close Saturday

ASHVILLE — The Ashville Food Pantry will be closed Saturday for the Ashville Day community garage sales. Those who are are out of food and can’t wait until Thursday can call 763-9252 to arrange time to go to the pantry in an emergency.

Vegans To Meet Wednesday

The Chautauqua County Vegetarian-Vegan Society will meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the YWCA, 58 S. Portage St., Westfield. The speaker will be Anne Dinshah, who will speak on “Vegan Cuisine in Your Town.” Anne is managing editor and vice president of the American Vegan Society, a national organization which promotes a compassionate way of living by reverence for life and ahimsa. She has been a lifelong vegan. She has authored or co-authored five books, including Powerful Vegan Messages.

Quilt Guild To Meet Wednesday

BUSTI — The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet on Wednesday at the Busti Fire Hall at 6:15 p.m. The annual picnic will be held. Those attending should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Drinks will be provided. Guests are welcome.

Vikings To Hold Meeting Thursday

On Thursday, this year’s scholarship winner, 25- to 50-year members, and the recipient of the International Order of Vikings Viking of The Year award will be recognized at a special ceremony beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Viking Lake Park. All Vikings, family members, and friends are invited to attend. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow the ceremony.

Falconer Class

Of ’67 To Meet

The Falconer High School Class of 1967 will hold its 50th class reunion at the home of Henry and Jo Ann Moyer, 1879 Buffalo St. Ext., Jamestown, on Aug. 4 and Aug. 5. Festivities begin Friday at 4 p.m. with a mixer and Saturday at 1 p.m. with a catered lunch. Cost is $20 per person, per event. Golfing is Friday, and if interested, call Rod Drake at 664-0317. Ellington Movie Night Saturday

Ellington — The Ellington Town Picnic Association, the Ellington Farman Library and the town of Ellington will host a movie night in the town park on Saturday. The movie “Sing” will be shown at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served and the event is open to the public. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray and enjoy an evening under the stars. In case of rain, the movie will be shown at the fire hall.

North County Group To Meet

FREDONIA — The Administrative Board of the North Chautauqua County Water District will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Pomfret Town Hall, 9 Day St., Fredonia. The agenda will include resolutions to enter into agreements with CSX and Norfolk Southern railroads required to implement the capital project. The public is welcome to attend.

Infinity Needs

Volunteers

Infinity Visual and Performing Arts is seeking volunteers for the 14th Annual Local Music Showcase on Saturday, Sept. 9. Currently, Infinity is in need of volunteers to man venue doors and check wristbands during the event, as well as volunteer sound engineers.
