Ellington Concert Set For Today

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Concert in the Town Square will welcome back Sunny Side Up today at 6:30 p.m. Sunny Side Up is a traditional country, blues and gospel band playing family-friendly venues throughout southwestern New York and northwestern Pennsylvania. The band is comprised of Brenda Carr, James Beightol, Randy Anderson, Marilyn McManus, Josh Mayes, Julia Eppehimer and Robert Scott. Refreshments are available by Community Church.

Baptist Church To Celebrate

The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, between Pratt and Prospect Station roads, will celebrate its 175th anniversary of the founding of the church. On Saturday, Aug. 5, at 5 p.m. there will be a dinner followed by a time of informal sharing. Seating is limited. Those who plan to attend need to RSVP to the church at 326-3417 by July 30. On Sunday, Aug. 6, there will be a special anniversary service at 10:30 a.m. looking back on God’s blessings upon the church. The special speaker will be Dr. Darwin Overholt, who served as pastor from 1966 to 1970 and currently is the director emeritus of the Downtown Rescue Mission in Huntsville, Alabama.

Band To Play At Herman Kent

Happy Days will perform at the Herman Kent Legion Post today. A chicken barbecue will be held on Sunday from noon-6 p.m.

Free Movie Night Set For Tuesday

Christ Lutheran Church will hold its free movie night on Tuesday at 7 p .m. The movie “Risen” will be shown. Free hot dogs, popcorn and beverage will be available.

TEA Party To Meet Tuesday

Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Lakewood American Legion. Joe Spain of Lynn Development will present. Members will view Prager video, “Was America Founded to be Secular?” and NRA video featuring Dana Loesch. Additionally, there will be a viewing of “What is Fake News?” Tucker Carlson of Fox will be featured. The Convention of States will be discussed A video of Linda Sarsour, Women’s March organizer, shows how she is inciting violence against President Trump. Meetings are open to the public.

Magic Show Set For Monday

Shawbucks and A Fresh Start will host a magic show with Magic Mike Duro with a fresh fruit buffet on Monday from 5:30-6:45 p.m. The proceeds will benefit A Fresh Start, and organization created in the memory of Alex Fouk. The organization helps people find “a fresh start” free from substance abuse and alcoholism through personal experiences. Duro is a Jamestown High School graduate and has returned to help raise money for the organization. At the door, adult tickets will be sold for $20 and tickets will remain at $10 for children.

War Vets Car Show Is Saturday

The War Vets is having a car show at 3431 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, on Saturday beginning at noon. Food and drinks will be available.
