Erie Bike Ride Set For July 5

On Wednesday, July 5, the Allegany Outdoor Club will ride bikes along the Erie, Pa., waterfront. Participants will meet at the Country Fair, 5866 Station Road, on the north side of I-90 at the Bay Front Connector, Exit 32. For more information call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331, evenings.

Lawn Sales Begin Friday

CELORON — The village of Celoron’s annual village-wide lawn sales will be held Friday, July 7, Saturday, July 8, and Sunday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celoron residents must contact the Celoron Village Hall at 487-4175 to sign up for the day(s) they will participate. On Thursday, July 6, the participating addresses list will be available at the Celoron Village Hall, 21 Boulevard Ave., Celoron, and on the Celoron website: www.celoronny.org.

‘Getting Home Safe’ Returns

The Getting Home Safe from the Point transportation program will return for July 2017. Collaboration between the Village Casino, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Arthur R. Gren Co. Inc. and the Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System (CARTS) means courtesy rides will be offered to the passengers after an evening in Bemus Point. The CARTS buses will have two runs every Friday and Saturday from June 30 through July 29. Passengers may catch the bus at 11:30 p.m. or 2 a.m. outside of the Village Casino in Bemus Point. The service is free and drops off riders directly to their homes or hotels in Bemus Point, Mayville, Lakewood or Jamestown areas. Pulse Poetry Slam Is Thursday

The Infinity Visual and Performing Arts Center will host Pulse Poetry Slam Open Mic Night on Thursday, July 6, at 6 p.m. at the Infinity Arts Cafe. Poets and audience members are welcome. Pulse Poetry Slam events are free, family-friendly and open to the public. Performance poetry is a way to express creativity while practicing performance and public speaking. The Infinity Arts Cafe performance entrance is located at 300 E. Third St., Jamestown.

Yard Sale Set For Saturday

Maple Springs residents will be hosting their annual Trash to Treasure, Chic Boutique Yard Sale on Saturday, July 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Maple Springs Volunteer Fire Company, the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy and the Maple Springs Lake Enhancement Committee. Items for sale include gently used household treasures and garden art. Over the years, more than $12,000 has been raised for Midway Park, including the carousel and the mini golf course, as well as Lake Chautauqua and our volunteer fire company. Maple Springs is located off route 430, near Midway Park. The event will take place in the Circle located near the lake in the heart of Maple Springs. Jamestown BOE Meeting July 5

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Washington Middle School auditorium. The public is welcome to attend.
