Set For Sunday

WESTFIELD – The Westfield Memorial Hospital Regional Auxiliary will host its inaugural soup supper from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield. Fifteen homemade soups will be on the menu, made by the members of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary board. Rounding out the menu will be bread, beverages and homemade desserts. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. There is a flat $20 fee for families of four or more. All proceeds will be used for auxiliary projects at Westfield Memorial Hospital.

Kindergarten Roundup Set

All parents of children in the Southwestern Central School District who will be 5-years-old on or before Dec. 1, 2013, are urged to call Southwestern Elementary School as soon as possible at 664-1881 to register for Kindergarten Roundup, which is being held May 2-10. Also, Southwestern Central School District is now accepting applications for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program. Slush Rush Is Sunday

FREDONIA – The fourth “Slush Rush” 5K race/walk to benefit the Xylia Peterson Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held on Sunday at 9 a.m. at SUNY Fredonia. The event is open to students, faculty and staff, and community members. MAYVILLE – Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Lisa Goodell as the guest on the Saturday television program. Goodell is the executive director for the Chautauqua Blind Association. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. TEA Party Group To Meet Tuesday

Falconer Senior Citizens will meet on Monday. Twenty-seven members met recently for a chili lunch, which opened with a flag salute and prayer. Get-well cards were sent to ill members. Gun Rally Set For Saturday

A gun appreciation rally will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Frewsburg Blue Building, Station 2, Hazzard Street, Frewsburg. Guest speakers will include Andrew Goodell, New York state assemblyman; Jacqueline Chiarot, for U.S. Congressman Tom Reed; New York state Sen. Ice Pick Contest Raises $9K

BEMUS POINT – The Chautauqua Lake Ice Pick contest has already raised more money than during its inaugural year. Peter Sullivan, event organizer, said $9,000 has already been raised for the contest. For information on the contest or to place a bet, visit www.clakeicepick.com. The first contest was in 2011, when $8,000 was raised for the Chautauqua Lake Association. In 2012, because of unseasonably warmer temperatures, the contest was not held. For this year’s contest, 50 percent of the money raised will be given to the Chautauqua Lake Association. The other 50 percent will be given to those who most accurately predict when the ice breaks, which will cause the pick to fall into the lake. The winner of the contest will receive 25 percent of the money raised. The next five closest guesses will split the remaining 25 percent.

JHS Showcase Set For Thursday

Jamestown High School will hold its annual curriculum showcase on Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. for incoming eighth-grade students and their parents. Mike McElrath, Jamestown High School principal, will present information on graduation requirements and scheduling in the auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a mini tour of the school’s art, business and technology rooms. Library To Create Valentines
