To The Reader’s Forum:

The response by first responders and utility crews to the damages caused by heavy winds on March 8 is commendable. I witnessed the Ashville Fire Department and National Grid employees out in the worst weather conditions trying to maintain safety for this community. The Ashville actions that I saw were surely replicated throughout Chautauqua County. The power and communication loss was widespread. Restoration efforts continued throughout the dark and cold night time hours.

To all the firemen and utility crews that were involved with this terrible weather event, I wish to commend you and thank you for your service and for keeping your county neighbors safe. Bravo and well done!
