11th Annual Journey To Active Aging Workshop Is Slated For Wednesday

The 11th annual Journey to Active Aging Workshop will be taking place Wednesday.

The theme for this year’s event is Aging Well: Live Longer, Live Better and Laugh Often, and will provide area seniors with the opportunity to hear from several community members, as well as get laughing with Caren Kolerski of Laughter Yoga.

Speakers for the Journey to Active Aging event include Dr. Hayes of Great Lakes Physician Practices; Jamestown Community College, regarding the programs that they offer to extend learning into our senior years; The National Comedy Center; Chautauqua Physical and Occupational Therapy; Sheriff Jim Quattrone; Laughter Yoga; and more.

There will also be a variety of vendors available throughout the event to provide information about items pertinent to seniors: from nutrition to healthcare to senior housing options.

Lunch will be provided as apart of the event, and will be catered by Meals on Wheels.

Aging Well: Live Longer, Live Better and Laugh Often will be taking place at Fluvanna Community Church, located at 3363 Fluvanna Avenue in Jamestown. Doors open at 8 a.m., and the cost is $8 per person.
