Ken and Becky Smith of Randolph, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen, to Sylan Caldwell, the son of Tim Caldwell of Jamestown, N.Y., and Rhonda Smith of Cherry Creek, N.Y.

Miss Smith is a 2014 graduate of Randolph High School and is employed by Panache Salon & Day Spa. Her fiance is a 2012 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School and a 2016 graduate of the State University at Fredonia with a bachelor degree in finance. He is employed by Titan X as a junior financial controller.

An Oct. 21, 2017, wedding is planned.
