Nora Kristine Shields and James Michael Salerno announce their engagement.

Miss Shields is the daughter of Kent and Sharyl Shields of Ashville, N.Y. Her fiance is the son of Michael and Stacie Salerno of Bradford, Pa.

Miss Shields is a 2006 graduate of Panama Central School and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in business from Penn State University. She is employed as a sales assistant for Luvata Ohio. Her fiance is a 2005 graduate of Bradford Area High School and a 2009 graduate of Penn State-Behrend University with a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering technology. He is employed as a automation consultant for Siemens Industry.

An Oct. 14, 2017 wedding is planned at St. Bernard of Clairvaux in Bradford, Pa.
