Stanley and Elizabeth “Betty” Bachelor of Celoron, N.Y., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Jan. 17, 2015, with a family dinner at The Main Landing Restaurant in Celoron, N.Y. They are the parents of two sons: Greg Bachelor and Gary Bachelor, both of Celoron, N.Y. They also have two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Bachelor and the former Elizabeth Myers were married Dec. 27, 1944, in Rolfe Methodist Church, Johnsonburg, Pa. The Rev. Dr. Charles C. Mohney performed the ceremony.

Bachelor, a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, is retired from Falconer Plate Glass. He is a member of the Celoron American Legion Post 777. Mrs. Bachelor is a retired self-employed beautician. They are both members of Celoron United Methodist Church and the Celoron-West Ellicott Senior Citizens.
