Man denies killing mother, stepfather in Atlanta

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A man accused of killing his mother and her husband shortly after they moved from Buffalo, New York to Atlanta says he didn’t do it.
Keith Sylvester tells WGRZ-TV in a phone interview from an Atlanta jail that he loved his mother and tried to take care of the couple.
The 47-year-old has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the July 3 deaths of 67-year-old Harry Hubbard and 65-year-old Deborah Hubbard.
Authorities say the couple was strangled and left in a burning home in Atlanta.
Sylvester says he was arrested because he was one of three people who had keys to the home.
He says he didn’t know his mother had an insurance policy naming him as the sole beneficiary.
Sylvester is being held without bail.
