Bush Industries Donates To Food Bank Of Western New York

Bush Industries Inc. employees donated over 5,000 nonperishable food items to the Food Bank of WNY to help families in need and to raise awareness about the prevalence of hunger.

The effort, led by employees Kim Tatoian, Lance Deming and Blaire Borst during the holiday season, was the largest contribution made by a single employer in one month.

“We are constantly looking at ways we can extend our commitment to our communities, and our employees came through with flying colors,” said Peter Harrington, human resources manager.

The Food Bank of Western New York works to feed those in need by acting as a bridge between available food and their member agencies. They distribute donations to 341 agencies throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. Through these agencies, the Food Bank of WNY serves as many as 134,955 individuals in any given month, including more than 44,000 families, 55,000 children and infants, and nearly 16,500 seniors.
