Dunkirk’s 22-Hit Attack Sinks Red Raiders

Dunkirk moved to 1-1 on the year with a 10-6 win over host Jamestown (0-4, 0-1) in nonleague softball action.

Monica Pokoj got the win in the circle with a complete-game performance that included six strikeouts and seven walks.

Kymilondjra Nance led the offense with a double and reached base on all four occasions as the Marauders’ offense belted out 22 hits.

Lindsey Spitz pitched the whole way for Jamestown, walking five and striking out one.

On offense, the Red Raiders had Olivia Gates rip a pair of triples; Emma Weng strike a double and a single; and Aubrey Reynolds reach base on three occasions.

PORTVILLE LOSES LATE

ELDRED, Pa. — Haylee Frederick walked and scored the winning run on a dropped third strike in the bottom of the seventh inning as Otto-Eldred rallied for a 10-9 nonleague win over Portville.

The Terriers scored twice in the second inning, twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and three times in the sixth to lead 8-1 entering the seventh inning.

The Panthers (1-2) then scored eight runs in the top of the seventh, highlighted by Sierra Keim’s two-run double, to take their first lead at 9-8.

Otto-Eldred then came back for the win in its last at-bat.

Keim finished 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and two runs scored while Bryn Milne was 2 for 4 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored.

Gabby Nickerson was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and a stolen base while Abby Wolfe went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored for the Terriers.
