Briere Scores Twice, Sinks Rebels In OT

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Carson Briere grabbed his second goal of the night and 37th of the year in overtime to lift Johnstown to a 3-2 win over Jamestown in North American Hockey League action Wednesday night.

The Rebels (29-13-5-3) enjoyed a 2-1 second-period lead after Niki Jasko tallied from Alex Frye after Frye grabbed his 28th goal of the year on feeds by Antonio Venuto and Nate Clark.

Briere’s 36th goal made it 2-2, lighting the lamp with 40 seconds to go on passes by Hunter Toale and Cameron Herbert to even things up for Johnstown (42-7-2-1).

Noah West made 21 saves for Jamestown while Carter McPhail stopped 25 shots in the win.

Jamestown will host the New Jersey Titans at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday inside Northwest Arena with a chance to lock up a playoff spot.
