Rebels Suffer Shootout Loss At Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — For just the second time this season, Jamestown fell in a shootout in North American Hockey League action on Friday.

The Rebels gave up a third-period equalizer and could not light the lamp in the shootout as Johnstown’s Joe Kile picked up the game-winner for the Tomahawks.

Goaltender Cooper Lukenda stopped Augustine Moore, Jim Glynn and Alex Frye in succession to secure the win for East Division-leading Johnstown (33-6-0-1).

Antonio Venuto got Jamestown on the board at 6:41 of the first off passes from Jim Glynn and Sam Anzai, but Cameron Herbet was able to find the equalizer on Carson Briere’s 34th assist of the year.

Ryan Keane made 27 saves on the night for Jamestown (24-10-3-2) which will face off against Johnstown again tonight.
