Jackals’ Cold Shooting Costs Them In Albany

ALBANY — The host Albany Patroons claimed a 97-86 win over the Jamestown Jackals in The Basketball League play on Friday night.

Lloyd Johnson led the winners with a 20-point, eight-rebound night that included six assists and three steals while Edwin Ubilies grabbed 18 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Jackals shot just 33 of 85 from the field, with James Helton leading all scorers with 21 points to go along with six rebounds and two assists.

DeAngelo Stewart chipped in 20 points on 4-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc while Glenroy Carr Jr. added 14 points to go along with a team-high ten rebounds.

The Patroons held a 28-14 lead after the opening quarter, but the Jackals were able to cut that margin to eight points at halftime before Albany was able to continue their strong play down the stretch.
