Rebels Overcome Early Deficit To Beat Knights

The Jamestown Rebels scored the final three goals of the game and beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, 3-1, in North American Hockey League East Division action Saturday afternoon at Revolution Ice Centre.

Jim Glynn scored the game-winning goal with less than four minutes remaining when he capitalized on assists from Alex Frye and Seth Bergeron. The goal was Glynn’s fourth of the season.

Frye added his 17th of the year into an empty net with 21 seconds left in the game from Colin Schmidt and Nick Petruolo.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton (11-18-1-0) got on the board first with just over five minutes remaining in the first period as Anthony Mastromonica tallied his first of the season from Jeffrey Bertrand and Adrian Danchenko.

Jake Felker tied the game for the Rebels (17-9-2-1) with just 41 seconds left in the second period with his 10th of the year from Nick Stuckless and Petruolo.

Ryan Keane turned aside 19 of the 20 shots he faced to earn the win in net for the Rebels, who were 0 for 5 on the power play.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton stopped 44 of 46 shots he faced, but took the loss.

Jamestown returns home for a Friday-Saturday doubleheader against the Maryland Black Bears next weekend at Northwest Arena. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m.
