FOOTBALL Cameron Barmore Clymer/Sherman/Panama Cameron Barmore caught five passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns while intercepting a pass on defense as Clymer/Sherman/Panama beat Maple Grove, 35-7, in the Section VI Class D championship game at New Era Field on Friday.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY Peter Auer Maple Grove Peter Auer won the Section VI boys Class D title on Friday at Bemus Point Golf Club, touring the 3.1-mile layout in 16:54.56, more than 17 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Auer’s time helped the Red Dragons win their fourth straight team title.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY Kylee Odell Clymer/Sherman/Panama Kylee Odell won the Section VI girls Class D title on Friday at Bemus Point Golf Club, touring the 3.1-mile layout in 19:43.78, less than three seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Odell’s time helped the Wolfpack finish second as a team.
SWIMMING Karianne Yuchnitz Panama/Clymer/Maple Grove Karianne Yuchnitz won her second straight Section VI 50-yard freestyle championship on Friday at the University at Buffalo. Yuchnitz finished in 24.18 seconds, just 0.2 seconds ahead of Jamestown’s Allie Stockwell.
VOLLEYBALL Olivia Anderson Chautauqua Lake Olivia Anderson had 17 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and an ace as No. 1 Chautauqua Lake beat No. 4 Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 25-19, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17, in Section VI Class D-1 semifinal play on Monday in Mayville.
GIRLS SOCCER Clare Crossley Maple Grove Clare Crossley scored 1:30 into Saturday’s New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Far West Regional against Wheatland-Chili at Webster-Thomas High School. Crossley’s goal, her 27th of the season and the 100th of her career, would not stand up as the Wildcats rallied for a 3-2 victory.
BOYS SOCCER Jacob Bulich Randolph Jacob Bulich made seven saves in Randolph’s 1-0 loss to Geneseo in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C Far West Regional on Friday at Sweet Home High School.
