LAKEWOOD — The Post-Journal Classic tennis tournament came to an end Sunday at the Lakewood YMCA, highlighted by the men’s final, which pitted Martin Hoch against Matt Johnson.
The men, who both showed their prowess earlier this year when they played in an exhibition match with former top-ranked pro Jimmy Arias, had a good battle before Hoch prevailed, 6-4, 6-4.
In other action, Tyler Beaton and Nicole Youngberg downed Matt Johnson and Mikayla Johnson in the mixed doubles final; Macy Youngberg and Hiba Munir outlasted Jenna Hayes and Emma Collins, 4-6, 7-6 (10-5) to capture the girls high school doubles title; and Macy Youngberg held off Kampbell Howard, 6-3, 7-5, in the high school singles title match.
