Trojans Host 1-Mile Stampede
Fourth-grader Chase Haaksma was the top boys finisher in 6:53 while fifth-grader Avery Johnson was the top girls finisher in 7:13 at the Southwestern Elementary School 2018 1-Mile Stampede hosted by the Trojans’ girls varsity cross country team.
Fifth-grader Ethan Lohnes finished second for the boys in 7:06 while fourth-grader Joey Sirianni was third (7:14).
Fourth-grader Marlana Cresanti was the second girls finisher in 7:30 while sixth-grader Kaitlyn Miller was third (7:44).
In the Grades 1-2 race, first-grader Ethan Smrekar took first in 7:41 while second-grader Ethan Weilacher was second (7:58) and second-grader Parker Sauder was third (8:23). Second-grader Lucy Hockenberry was the first girls finisher in 8:55.
In the Grades 3-4 race, Haaksma, Sirianni and Cresanti were the top-three finishers followed by fourth-grader Carter Casselman (7:36).
In the Grades 5-6 race, Lohnes and Johnson were the top finishers followed by sixth-grader Trent Casselman (7:23).
Forty-three runners took part in the event.
