Youngbergs Lead Falconer Past Bears

Victories in all three singles matches carried Falconer to a 3-2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus East Division win over Frewsburg on Wednesday afternoon at Jamestown Community College.

Macy Youngberg beat Elise Sposato, 6-3, 6-3, at first singles; Nicole Youngberg beat Anjolie Sanfilippo, 6-2, 6-2, at second singles; and Lauren Allen beat Samantha Burkett, 6-0, 6-0, at third singles for the Golden Falcons (4-1, 2-0).

The Bears (1-3, 1-2) put up a fight in the doubles matches with Emily Zamborik and MaKena Adams winning a marathon over Aubin Barber and Ashley Pierce, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 with a 7-4 tie-breaker. Amanda Cusimano and Allie Eckman also won in three sets for the Bears, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0, over Chloe Jordan and Angelina Fiasco.

SALAMANCA — Winning every match but first singles, Salamanca beat Jamestown, 4-1, in East Division action.

Haley Pond and Brooke Kettle won at second and third singles, respetively, while Ashley Newark and Emma Lightner won at first doubles and Maegan Collins and Ivy Li won at second doubles for the Warriors (1-3, 1-1).

CeCe Eklum won at first singles for the Red Raiders (0-3, 0-3).

Olean’s doubles teams helped the Huskies to a 3-2 non-league win over Southwestern.

Brookelinn Garey and Elyse Graham won at first doubles while Olivia Lang and Aaliyah Bruner won at second doubles for Olean (4-0, 2-0 CCAA East).

Hiba Munir and Elizabeth Kane won singles matches for the Trojans (0-3, 0-1 CCAA West).

Alicia Kluck, Selin Arnavut and Nicole Cosico won for the Hillbillies (3-0, 2-0 CCAA West).

Emily Zamborik and MaKena Adams won at first doubles while Allie Eckman and Taylor Munson won at second doubles for the Bears (1-2, 1-1 CCAA East).
