Southern Tier Tryouts Moved Up A Day

FREWSBURG — The Southern Tier Regulators will hold their second tryout today at 1 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Athletic Complex.

The Regulators are a newly formed 18U travel baseball program that offers high-level competition for prospective college baseball players.

Southern Tier served as the host team for the recent Babe Ruth 16-18 World Series at Diethrick Park.

On its website, Southern Tier says its coaching staff “is committed to providing the experience and quality baseball instruction needed to develop high school players into sought-after college prospects.” The Regulators will “offer an intense year-round program that includes winter workouts, a full summer tournament schedule, and starting in 2019 a fall program.”

Today’s tryout will replace the tryout originally scheduled for Sunday due to bad weather forecast for the area.

There will be a $25 non-refundable registration fee and players are asked to arrive 30 minutes early.
