Maple Grove Posts Volleyball Win Over Chautauqua Lake

MAYVILLE — Maple Grove improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division following a 15-25, 25-16, 29-27, 25-13 volleyball victory over Chautauqua Lake on Thursday.

Maddie Welsh led a balanced attack for the Lady Red Dragons with 13 kills and two blocks; Bre Hill had 11 kills and seven aces; Courtney Hemminger collected eight kills, five aces and three blocks; Alyssa Steen added 21 assists; and Kelsey Tarbrake had 23 digs.

Olivia Anderson paced the Lady Thunderbirds (0-2, 0-2) with six kills, eight digs and four blocks; Bryanna Davis had five kills, four aces, 10 digs and two blocks; Sophie Woodis added five kills; Abbie Henry contributed two kills, 15 digs and two blocks; and Mollie Meadows added two kills, seven digs and 10 assists.

Chautauqua Lake won the junior varsity match.

CLYMER STILL PERFECT

SHERMAN — Clymer (3-0) picked up a five-set win over Sherman (2-0), 22-25, 28-26, 18-25, 25-11, 25-19.

Leading the way for the winners were Arden Hepler with seven blocks and one kill; Hannah Kind had five kills and four digs; Justine Kuno had eight digs; and Ashley Covey added six digs and two aces.

Teddi Hayes collected one ace, three kills, seven assists and four digs; Amaya Lewczyk had four aces, five kills, four assists and three digs; Kennedy Ames chipped in five aces, six assists and three digs; and Maggy Myers had three kills, seven assists and four digs for the Lady Wildcats.

PANAMA WINS AGAIN

Panama (4-0, 2-0) rolled past Southwestern, 25-17, 25-16, 25-22.

Madalyn Bowen led the way with nine kills, eight digs and two aces; Natalie Angeletti had eight kills, eight digs, two blocks and one ace; Alexys Marsh collected eight kills, two blocks, five digs and one ace; Maci Johnson had two kills, three assists, 10 digs and three aces; Maddie Johnson added seven digs, one ace and 24 assists; and Kylie Schnars chipped in four kills and six blocks.

For Southwestern, Anna Rauh had six kills and two blocks, Katie Brinkley added 12 digs, Madeliene Dubas had four kills, Angiel Lunz chipped in three kills with 13 assists, and Abby Manelick recorded two kills with five aces.

Panama prevailed in the JV match as well.

FALCONER PREVAILS

SOUTH DAYTON — Behind 24 assists, 21 digs, seven kills and five aces from Jordan Sampson, Falconer (1-2, 1-1) downed Pine Valley (1-2, 0-1), Falconer,19-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.

Grace Camarata (13 digs, nine kills and three aces), Serena Camarata (18 digs, six kills one block) and Claudia Russell (16 digs, three aces) also contributed to the victory.

Pine Valley was led by Emily Pfleuger with 17 assists and two aces; Morgan Sandy had 18 digs and three aces; Mallory Waag chipped in six digs and four kills; and Sadie Fadale collected seven digs and four kills.
