Chautauqua Lake Upends Falconer In Volleyball

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake (5-2, 5-2) topped Falconer (3-7, 3-4) in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division volleyball on Tuesday, 25-19, 25-18, 25-12, thanks to 13 kills, two aces and 11 digs by Olivia Anderson.

Abbie Henry added six kills, two aces, 10 digs, seven assists and two blocks; Sophie Woodis had six kills; Megan Brown three aces; Mollie Meadows four kills and nine assists; and Jenna Waters 11 digs.

Jordyn Sampson led Falconer with 10 digs and eight assists; Grace Camarata had five kills, 10 digs and one block; Serena Camarata eight digs and three assists; and Bekah Morales one block.

The Thunderbirds claimed the jayvee game as well.

SHERMAN DOWNS

PINE VALLEY

SOUTH DAYTON — Sherman defeated Pine Valley (2-8, 0-6), 25-23, 25-19, 25-16, thanks to six digs, two kills, one assist and one ace by Amaya Lewczyk.

Teddi Hayes added two kills, two digs, two aces and two assists while Rowan Fisher had three digs, three kills, five aces and two assists.

Morgan Sandy chipped in 11 digs, one kill and one ace for the winners, Lyric Westlund had seven digs and three kills, and Emily Pfleuger had 19 assists with one kill.

LADY TROJANS WIN

The Southwestern volleyball team downed Clymer, 25-14, 25-15, 25-12, in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association non-league match.

Angela Lunz led the way with six aces, six kills, five digs and 18 assists for the winners. Sydney Chau added eight aces, Abby Manelick had nine aces, three kills and nine digs, Madeline Dubois had seven kills and one block and Katie Brinkley chipped in seven digs.

Justine Kuno had six digs, Kate Honey two blocks, Abbie Heslink four assists, and Hannah King two kills, one block and four digs to pace the Lady Pirates.
