Young Shows Way On Asquith Tour

ERIE, Pa. — Dave Young fired a 71 in the White A Flight for the lowest score in the Asquith Senior Golf Tour at the Scenic Heights Golf Course.

Ken Burch was the leader with a plus 11 followed by Vern Ahlgren with a plus eight and Young with plus six.

Rick Bowman carded an 80 for the lowest score in the White B Flight. Ted Charles was the leader with a plus 14 followed by Bowman with a plus 11 and Fran Dexter with a plus 10.

Dan Hustead shot a 76 in the Gold A Flight, which was headed by Norm Biegaj with a plus 15. Hustead had a plus 12 and Ken Aldrich had a plus 10.

Joe McCourt had a 78 in the Gold B Flight and was a plus 13. Bruce Carlson was second with a plus 12 and Ed Johnson had a plus eight.

Bill Derby delivered an 82 in the Gold C Flight with Dave Lawson having a plus 13, Bill Derby a plus 12 and John Ames a plus 9.

Richard Tyler had an 89 in the Gold D Flight and led with plus 15. Jim Polvino and Chuck Jackson each had a plus 12.

Paul Olkowski was closest to the pin on No. 4, Fran Dexter on No. 8, Bill Hart on No. 11 and Bill Davenport on No. 16.

Next up for the league is a 9 a.m. match on Tuesday at the Green Meadows Golf Club.
