Hits For A Cure

The seventh annual Little League “Hits for a Cure” baseball game was held last Saturday in the Gerry Town Park as part of the 20th week-long Gerry Little League Tournament, pitting the Gerry Jammers against the Cassadaga Reds. The event was started by Gerry native Brad Barmore to raise breast cancer awareness and financially help people affected by it. In this year’s game, all proceeds benefitted Cassadaga Valley Central School English teacher and Gerry resident Debbie Tordoff, who is battling the disease. In photo at right, Debbie throws out the first pitch. In photo above, Debbie, standing in the middle of the second row, poses for a photos with the players, coaches and umpires.
