Burch Leads Asquith Senior Tour’s Stop At Chautauqua Golf Club

CHAUTAUQUA — Ken Burch won the White A Flight with a plus-2 in the Asquith Senior Tour on Chautauqua Golf Club’s Lake Course on Monday.

Bruce Blume was second with a minus-1 and Brian Eckwahl was third with a minus-2. Burch and Tom Short tied for medalist honors with 84s.

Ted Charles was the winner in White B Flight with a plus-6 followed by Joe Matte with a plus-2 and Dick Tyler with a plus-2. Charles was low with an 89.

Don Hustead took Gold A Flight with a plus-4. Pat Hepinger was next with a plus-3 and Bill Hart also had a plus-3. Ross Cali and Hustead were the co-medalists with 83s.

Ed Johnson won the Gold B Flight with a plus-2. Bruce Carlson also had a plus-2 as did Ron Willey. Johnson shot a medalist round of 88.

John Ames took the Gold C Flight with a plus-3. Williard Anderson followed with a plus-3 and Larry Eidens had a plus-2. Eidens was also the medalist with a 91.

Ed Potter won the Gold D Flight with a plus-5 followed by Jim Wirges with a plus-4. Bob Kaverman and Norm Thomas had plus-2s. Wirges had a 97 for the lowest round.

Ray Glasgow was the closest to the pin on No. 4, Hart was the nearest the pin on No. 6, Burch was closest on No. 8, Sam Pellerito was closest on No. 12 and Burch was closest again on No. 15.

Maplehurst Country Club is the site for next Monday’s action with a 9 a.m. start.
