A Life-Saving Donation

The Lakewood-Busti Police Benevolent Association provided the Southwestern Area Sports Little League with an Automated External Defibrillator, or AED, for the little league baseball field at the Michael LaGrega Memorial Field in Lakewood. “We want to thank the officers for their generosity. Not only do they work in our community, but they live in our community,” said Troy Bouckhuyt, vice president of the SWAS Little League. “They have provided us with a piece of equipment that makes the baseball field a safer place for not only the players, but parents and spectators.” The SWAS Little League hopes to place an AED at each field they use during the baseball season. However, due to the high cost of the equipment, the league is unable to purchase the needed amount of AEDs for each field all at once. This donation by the Lakewood-Busti Police Benevolent Association has helped the league move closer to its goal. From the left are Det. Jarrett Reed, PBA president; Leslie Genareo, SWAS president; and Sgt. Jeff Spencer, Lakewood-Busti Police Department.
