High School Showcase Set For April 27-28 At Diethrick Park

Falconer Central School and the Chautauqua County Umpires Association will host the ninth annual High School Baseball Showcase at Diethrick Park on April 27-28.

On Friday, April 27, Brocton takes on Cassadaga Valley in a CCAA Division 2 West game at 4:30 p.m. followed by Dunkirk and Falconer meeting in a CCAA Division 1 West game at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, April 28, four games are on the agenda. At 10 a.m., Panama and Westfield will play a CCAA Division 2 West contest followed at 1 p.m. by Pine Valley and Clymer in a non-league game. Southwestern faces Olean in a non-league game at 4 p.m. and Maple Grove takes on Chautauqua Lake at 7 p.m. in a CCAA Division 1 West game.

Admission will be $1 for students and senior citizens while admission for adults will be $2. Money raised will assist Falconer baseball and softball as well as the Umpires Association baseball scholarship fund and the cost of operating the event.

Section VI passes or complimentary passes will not be honored. One gate fee each day will allow admission to all games that day.

This showcase was conceived in the 1980s and features 12 baseball teams from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.
