Hvizdzak Scores 33 In Randolph Win Over Salamanca

SALAMANCA — Sydney Hvizdzak eclipsed the 30-point plateau for the third time this season as Randolph beat Salamanca, 66-42, in CCAA Division 1 East girls basketball action Tuesday.

Hvizdzak scored 33 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals while Kara Leeper added 11 points and nine steals. Nizhoni Kennedy chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals (10-6, 6-2).

Zoe Gross led the Warriors (3-13, 0-8) with 26 points while Kylee Dowdy added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Caryn Miller grabbed eight rebounds and handed out seven assists while Marla Warrior had seven rebounds.

TRIO SCORES

IN DOUBLE FIGURES

Marissa Schuppenhauer, Bre Hill and Riley Caskey all scored in double figures as Maple Grove was able to slip by Fredonia in CCAA Division 1 West play.

Schuppenhauer had 17 points, Hill had 14 points and Caskey scored 11 points as the Red Dragons had just enough to get past Katie Price and the Hillbillies, 54-52.

Price scored 24 points and was especially effective in the fourth quarter with 16 points but it wasn’t enough.

Caskey had nine assists and three steals while Schuppenhauer grabbed six rebounds in the win. Courtney Hemminger led Maple Grove in rebounding with eight and Elsa Gruber added five rebounds.
