First Day Of Mid-Winter Classic In The Books

The first day of the Mid-Winter Classic was held at Northwest Arena on Saturday. Action continues today and Monday. Admission is free.

BANTAM DIVISION

Jamestown-Bergman played the North Pittsburgh-Kappell to a 1-1 tie.

Michael Gerace scored from Lucian Talbett for Jamestown while Alex Johnson tallied for Pittsburgh from Ryan Kosylo.

Jacob Eschberger scored three goals when Hamburg Hawks-Prizel easily defeated Butler Valley-Lefevre, 10-1.

Eschberger scored his first goal from Joe Szufita and Riley Lorkowski, his second was unassisted and this third was from Evan Prizel; Nathan Mascia scored twice from James Traska and Matt Gruelich, and from Brendon O’Donnell; Szufita scored the first goal unassisted; Jake Spanich added another unassisted tally; and Prizel scored from Eschberger for a 3-0 spread.

Other goals went to James Traska from Nathan Mascia and Lorkowski from Traska.

Lucas Lefevre averted the shutout by converting a pass from Cameron Hores.

The Erie Lions-Callaghan doubled the count on West Seneca-Marini, 4-2.

For the Erie Lions, Grace Schneider, Dean Woods, Johnny McFadden and Ryan Mead recorded the goals. Assists went to Matthew Smith, Charles Agresti, Chris Spriegel and Mead.

Matthew Pietrantoni and Jordan Kline scored in defeat with Ryan Lewicki picking up an assist.

Henry Schultz and Jeremiah Rausch scored twice to lead the Brockport Tri-County-Esposito past the Strongville-Bell, 9-1.

Other goals for the winners went to Adam Polito, Jonathan Bunk, Dominic Viola and William Kennard. Assists were recorded by Jacob Esposito, Rausch and Aiden Bolam with two while one apiece was scored by Adam Polito, Dominic Viola and Jonathan Bunk.

Zachary Bell scored unassisted for Strongville.

Robbie Sloan and William Duggan had two goals as North Pittsburgh-Ferguson downed the Wheatfield-Wrona, 9-0.

Jack Jones, Eli Bolibruck, Alexander Lewis, Tyler Goodwin and Nicholas Baker scored the rest of the goals.

Assists went to Nicolas Hyams with two, Duggan with two, and Connolly Barrett, Baker, Michael Ferguson, Nicolas Hyams, Alexander Lewis and Patrick Buttignol with one apiece.

Southtown-Collesano scored a 2-1 win over Jamestown-Munson.

Tyler Hetrick and John Dubreville scored the goals for Southtown.

North Pittsburgh-Weaver shut out the Erie Lions-Dolak, 9-0. Owen Martin scoring two goals and Jonathan Castillo had two assists.

Alexander Costs, Carter Hoehn, Gianni LoChiatto, Justin Hai and Nicolas Beal scored the rest of the goals for the winners.

Noah Logan had three assists, and Jack Weaver, Martin, Hai, Tyler Cownie and Beal added one assist in the win.

Lucas Lisciandro had the hat trick and Griffin Bogdanowicz added two goals as Jamestown-Finnerty defeated the Hamburg Hawks-Losey, 6-1.

Bogdanowicz was assisted by Payton Dustin twice and Lucas Gilbert once while Carson Olson had the other goal for the winners.

J. Monaco scored for the Hawks.

Crawford County-Triola beat the Depew Saints-Petroski, 4-2, with Ian Miller, Ross Triola (two goals) and Brayden Burnette found the back of the net.

Evan Peterson, Ross Triola, Burnette and Rylan Garrison picked up the assists.

Koch had both goals in defeat with Martin adding the assists.

The Jamestown Lakers were beaten by Butler Valley-Schwarzbach, 5-2.

Owen Copeland and Nash Luther were the Lakers-Kresge scorers.

Dante Pelloni, Nolan Stafaniak, Luke Meyers and Anthony Trombatt scored for Butler Valley. Elijah Schwarzbah, Ian Meyers and Trombatt came up with assists.

Rocky River-Giltinan edged the North Pittsburgh-Cownie, 2-1, with goals by Dylan Vidmar from Lucas Opdycke and Alex Tompkins from Opdycke.

Evan Kerber scored from Sam Bailey.

Hat tricks by Joshua Cherry and Logan Kenjockey led Southtowns Stars-Sandle to a 12-0 win over Tri-County Rowley.

Other goals were by Brendan Ralph, Aaron Sandel, Angelo Peppes and Gavin Baumgartner. Ralph, Alex Popek and Gavin Macauley picked up the assists.

The Jamestown Lakers-Anderson edged Butler Valley-Rogers, 2-1, with Mikail Anderson and Theonis Singleton having the goals.

Anderson’s goal was assisted by Cooper Shelters and Singleton’s tally was assisted by Benjamin Scott and Kameron Press.

Jack Britt scored from Ethan Dasilva in defeat.
