Caskey, Hill Combine To Power Red Dragons

The one-two punch of Riley Caskey and Bre Hill were the driving force that led Maple Grove to a 68-46 CCAA Division 1 West victory over Dunkirk on Monday night.

Caskey tossed in 25 points and Hill added 22 points for the Red Dragons (13-7, 7-5).

Hill had 16 points by halftime as Maple Grove led, 35-22. Caskey scored 14 points in the third quarter as the Red Dragons extended their lead to 55-36.

Caskey hit five 3-pointers along the way while Hill grabbed seven rebounds and Courtney Hemminger had eight rebounds. Marisa Schuppenhauer added 12 points and four steals toward the winning cause while teammate Lauren Grissom blocked four shots.

Olivia Smith and Kymi Nance each had 12 points while Amari Carter added 11 points for the Marauders (7-12, 3-8).

BALANCED ATTACK LIFTS PIRATES

CLYMER — Clymer cruised to a 62-23 CCAA Division 2 West win over Cassadaga Valley.

Nashia Duryee finished with 10 points and five steals while Erica Gustafson grabbed 12 points and jayvee callup Arden Heppler had 9 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates (10-9, 4-6). Kate Honey chipped in 6 points and five steals while Kenzie Blakeslee led the Pirates with eight rebounds.

Kaylee Pattyson grabbed eight rebounds and Heidi Williams had seven for the Cougars (4-16, 0-10).

CASSADAGA VALLEY (23)

LEEPER, ADAMS BRING CARDS BACK

RANDOLPH — Kara Leeper’s hot third quarter paved the way as Randolph was able to defeat Silver Creek, 54-48, in CCAA Division 1 East play.

Leeper scored 10 of her 15 points in a 17-12 third quarter as the Cardinals (11-7, 7-3) rallied.

Joan Adams was stellar in the second half as well by scoring 8 of her 10 points for the hosts.

Leeper also had five steals and five assists in addition to five rebounds. Adams grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots while adding two steals and five assists in the win. Nizhoni Kennedy had 10 assists and a steal to go along with her 12 points for the victors.

Abby Rice had 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists while Tessa Douglas had 10 rebounds for the Black Knights (10-8, 4-6).

SILVER CREEK (48)
