Red Raiders Fall To Hamburg In ECIC Division 1 Match

Hamburg won six of eight bouts between 120 pounds and 170 pounds en route to a 37-30 victory over Jamestown in ECIC Division 1 wrestling Wednesday.

Devin Collins (120 pounds) and Ryan Forrest (126 pounds) earned decisions, Ryan Hornstrom (138 pounds) earned a major decision and Dom Manzella (152 pounds) had a takedown before Kole Taylor (160 pounds) and Gabe Masterangelo (170 pounds) won via forfeit for the Bulldogs.

Cody Pool earned a pin in 1:10 at 113 pounds, Jomar Medero-Montanez picked up an overtime decision at 132 pounds and Noah Turzillo earned a 2-0 decision at 220 pounds for the Red Raiders.

FRANKLINVILLE — Randolph wrapped up the CCAA Division 2 wrestling title with a 45-28 victory over Franklinville.

Angel Benitez picked up his first varsity win for the Cardinals (5-0) with a 14-12 sudden-victory decision in overtime at 152 pounds. Benitez and Matt Peters went to overtime tied at 12 before a takedown early in the extra period gave the win to Benitez.

The Panthers won a pair of tightly contested matches with Michael Defoe defeating Wyatt Sluga, 10-6, at 126 pounds and Nolan Palmatier beating Garrett Luce, 10-8, at 113 pounds.

Randolph will take on non-league Southwestern tonight. The Trojans wrestled in Olean on Wednesday.
