Leeper Leads Randolph Girls

RANDOLPH — Kara Leeper had a career-high 24 points to lead Randolph past Gowanda, 72-33, in CCAA Division 1 East action.

Sydney Hvizdzak hit a pair of 3-pointers as the Cardinals (6-4, 2-0) went up 20-5 in the first quarter before taking a 36-16 halftime advantage.

“We had a lot of transition baskets,” Randolph coach Sean Huntington said. “We got girls out in the open court and they finished their shots, which was the difference.”

Leeper scored 14 in the first half before scoring her final 10 in a 21-5 third quarter for Randolph.

Joan Adams finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots and a steal while Leeper added four rebounds, five assists and seven steals in the win.

Alexis Hawkins led the Panthers (3-6, 1-1) with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

THREE REACH DOUBLE FIGURES

ELLICOTTVILLE — Pine Valley used a second-half surge to defeat Ellicottville in Division 2 East action.

The Panthers outscored Ellicottville, 28-23, in the second half to wind up with a 50-45 victory.

Three players led the Panthers (6-3, 2-0) with Kayla Hohl and Kahlen Green each having 13 points while Karson Smuda added 11 points.

Hohl and Green each grabbed six rebounds for the winners while Linnea Jimerson had 12 rebounds in the loss.

Jimerson and Evelyn Cortes led Ellicottville (3-6, 0-2) with 14 points each.

DEMARCO HAS TRIPLE-DOUBLE

SINCLAIRVILLE — Sophia DeMarco had 21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and six blocked shots as Westfield beat Cassadaga Valley, 50-48, in CCAA Division 2 West.

Susie Wolfe added 11 points, 12 assists and two steals for the Wolverines (7-5, 1-2).

Bella Ruiz led the Cougars (4-8, 0-2) with 17 points and four steals; Meghan LeBaron had 12 points, four rebounds and four steals; and Heidi Williams grabbed 15 rebounds.
